This truck was sold to the Idaho National Guard in September 1950. It spent the next 25 years sitting in a hanger coming out occasionally for training. This was the truck that was use the the commander of the unit and had General insignia. I have been working on finding out additional information about who actually drove this vehicle. After its very uneventful life in the Military, it was sold to a fire department and painted it current color. This M37 was used primarily on forest fires where it racked up most of its 17,000 miles. In 1996 it was sold at auction to a gentleman who used it to pull trees out on his cabin property in Heber, Utah. I purchase it in 2006, and intend to restore it to original condition. I am looking for its companion trailer, so if you have one you want to sell or give me I would love to come and get it. Call me at 801-427-7445 I also have a 2 1/2 ton 1980 trailer I would like to trade for the one that matches the M37. |
